Porchmode accessibility statement
Updated October 6, 2026
Everyone should be able to book a porch, follow their install, and see their photos. We build porchmode.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
What we do
- Keyboard: every page, the booking flow, the hold timer, and payment work without a mouse. Focus is always visible.
- Screen readers: headings, landmarks, and labels on every form field. Status changes (your hold timer, window availability, errors) are announced.
- Time limits: your 10-minute booking hold is announced at the start and warned at 2 minutes. If you need more time, text or email us and we'll book it with you directly.
- Motion: if your device asks for reduced motion, we turn off scrolling effects and parallax and pause the hero video on a still image.
- Color and contrast: text and controls meet AA contrast. We never use color alone to show status.
- Images: descriptive alt text on every image. Concept images are labeled as concept.
- Video: our films have no spoken audio. Any video with speech will carry captions.
- Zoom: pages reflow to 400% zoom and work on small phones without sideways scrolling.
- Forms: clear labels, error messages that say what to fix, and no CAPTCHA puzzles.
Known limits
- Payment: the card and Apple Pay or Google Pay fields are provided by Stripe inside our page. Stripe publishes its own accessibility commitments; tell us if anything in that step blocks you.
- Instagram and TikTok: content on those platforms is outside our control.
- Photos of finished porches are described in alt text in general terms. Ask and we'll describe your own gallery in detail.
