Shingle and white-trim cottages take Transitional well, soft heirlooms that sit quietly with gray and white. Newer Corona del Mar builds with black windows and clean stucco suit Modern. Mediterranean and Tuscan entries carry the full Transitional palette at Grand Entry scale. Marine-layer mornings shorten a pumpkin's run, so we keep pieces off damp ground and out of afternoon sun. And close to the sidewalk means close to view, which is one more reason nothing we publish ever shows a house number.
